1. my father is the bestest driver ever. i almost missed my flight, but somehow we made it. praise, hallelujah!
2. hawaii is awesome. oh my. i dont think i ever wanna leave. if i didnt have friends, family and gcc at home, i simply wouldnt come home.
3. rosa is awesome! you know you're in good hands when she drives up in an immaculate sky-blue brand new mercedes. and she gave me the lovely lei above...
4. did i mention that hawaii is amazing?
5. i sat by an older man who is from idaho (go figure) and has lived in hawaii for 5 years. his wife does real estate and though i didnt catch what he does, he travels all over the pacific rim islands. he filled me in on just about everything hawaiian which was great.
6. get this. from rosa's appartment, i can see this mountain AND the ocean. her office is across the road from the beach (about a mile from her appartment). they have an amazing pool area at this complex. there is the most amazing wholesale shopping center not to far away, plus restaurants and botique-swimsuit stores and whatever else. we saw baby ducks w/their mama while eating at this nice italian place (owned by vietnamese, go figure. our waiter was asian, too) that sits near a marina with a view of the mountain rosa kinda lives on.
(if you haven't caught this, rosa is the lady i'm staying with. i have only spoke with her on the phone and via email till today.)
7. bright and early, i am going surfing! this is what rosa's church does for 'outreach' (get this. they have 4 or 5 services, saturday nites are also in chinese, 1 or 2 on sunday are korean, 1 or 2 sunday are for japanese. if you speak english, you pick whatever works. kinda sounds firmiliar, huh? they have a couple thousand who attend. oh. and churches here are on the beach. gcc has a nice facility and all, but honestly, would you rather be airconditioned or enjoying a balmy hawaiian breeze? big screen or the pacific ocean?) so anyways, they do surfing as like an outreach/hang out event. i think our youth/merge should take note. surfing will draw the masses, even the masses from the otherside of the country....
alrighty. kelsey is tired. it has been a long day. leave your comments and i will tell you all about surfing tomorrow sometime :).

Aloha,Kelsey! I'm so happy for you to be able to see the beauty of Hawaii! I so want to go there before I die.
I can't wait to see and hear more.

Hawaii sounds great. It's still on my list of places to visit some day. Have a wonderful trip!
Kelsey: This is your mother speaking. You CANNOT move to Hawaii yet. We need you here!!! :) It took me until 4:00 today to get the 3rd load of laundry out on the line. Interestingly, there were only 3 loads today and none yesterday. I think we've determined who generates all the dirty clothes!?! Have a great time at the beach. We may go to Lake Michigan tomorrow. You probably are not at all envious now that you have seen the BIG waves. ENJOY! Love, Mama
