so today started w/laundry (amazingly, i have not been going thru laundry withdrawl) then rosa put me on a bus and sent me to the local mall. granted the mall that is across the street from the beach. we went there to eat at the food court last nite and i kept seeing bags walk by of stores i wanted to visit. this 4-floor wonder has astonished me. stores include: gucci, chanel, hermes, christian dior, etc (all with security guarded entrance/exits) as well as your more normal mall fare: hollister, american eagle, gap, abercombie, banana republic, old navy, pacsun, guess and several uniquely hawaiian joints. and the stores that kelsey dreams about: most notably puma and diesel. i didn't buy hardly anything, but had a fun time walking around. somehow, even after buying million dollar property and nice cars, hawaiians have money?!
then i came home and rosa and i went and layed by the pool. the pool water is too cold for my taste, so i read and looked at the view (pictured above). then we walked to the beach. after the sun set, we walked to a burger place where i got the best chicken sandwhich of all time, and loaded up on american foods such as french fries and a shake (hey, it's gonna be a long 2 weeks as far as food goes). then we walked back. total walking distance: 3+ miles, so there wasn't too much guilt in the fried american fare :).
tomorrow we head off to china. i'm kinda sad to leave hawaii, although i do enjoy being in china. rosa is already making plans for my next visit (i'm still trying to figure out WHEN though) so that's good :).
the next post should be from china; probably not for a coupla days though.
zaijian!

This came to mind while I was praying for you this morning. Think I'm supposed to pass it along to you. “Then I said, "Alas, Lord GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak, Because I am a youth." But the LORD said to me, “Do not say, 'I am a youth,' Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak. "Do not be afraid of them, For I am with you to deliver you," declares the LORD. Then the LORD stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me, "Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. "See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, To pluck up and to break down, To destroy and to overthrow, To build and to plant." Jeremiah 1:6-10
